This past Thursday, senior, Cassidy Gamble was recognized by the Captian William Hendricks chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) with the Good Citizens Award. This award is given to high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. Gamble was selected by her teachers and peers. For this achievement, she was given a certificate and pin alongside the other students recognized from other local schools.
Once a student is chosen as their school's DAR Good Citizen, they are invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program. This consists of a personal statement and an essay. Gamble was announced the winner of the scholarship and was awarded a plaque as well as a scholarship. The plaque will be put on display at the South Campus until the next year when it will go to the next recipient.
