Robotics
GCS is joining over 22,000 schools and over 1,000,000 students worldwide in the VEX robotics competition. Robotics allows the student to design, build and program a robot to compete in a simple task using standardized parts.
This year’s challenge is called Spin Up. Similar to disc golf, the robot must “score” the most points in a 2-minute period with a combination of programing and driver control. Here’s a quick overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIZgvVDZc2Y
The GCS Cyber Eagles will be competing locally, November through February.
Will they earn a berth in the Ohio State Finals?
Will they learn enough in their journey to be invited to join the estimated 12,000 other students in the World Championship?
These questions are unanswered, but no doubt they will learn as they work together competing against their peers and gaining entry to over $40M in scholarships from 500 different colleges and organizations across the United States.
