Meet our HS Spanish & Guidance Counselor!

Hola! I am Profe Klenzman, and I wear a few different sombreros at GCS. As a teacher, I love engaging my students in Spanish conversation and believe it is the quickest, most effective (and fun) way to language acquisition. I'm so excited that the students have the opportunity to begin learning Spanish in elementary school, where foreign language is most attainable. My hope is that they will continue to take Spanish throughout high school, as knowing a foreign language can open up many doors of ministry. Learning about another culture allows students a glimpse into a world that is different from their own which fosters empathy and allows students to be missionally minded in a world that desperately needs Christian young men and women to be role-models who are strong in their faith.

Spanish has been a passion of mine since living in Spain and studying the language and culture in college. Throughout my teaching career of 26 years in the public school arena, I have traveled to 14 countries and most of the Spanish-speaking world. I have continued my education at Ashland University, obtaining my Masters in Curriculum and Education and pursuing a Masters in Spanish at Northwest Nazarene University, where I have CCP accreditation. I love being able to share my knowledge of the Spanish language as well as cultural insights with students of all ages.

My husband and I have five children who have attended many different schools, including Public, Private Christian, and one year of Homeschool and Homeschool co-op. Our oldest works in Colorado, the next oldest attends OSU, our middle child just started Cedarville, and our youngest two are in the public schools. Our kids have been involved in various sports. We love to play tennis and pickleball and are all very involved in our church and youth programs. I enjoy spending time in God's Word and Bible studies such as BSF, and my newest hobby is cardio drumming.

What makes Gilead Christian School a special place to work is its unique, Christ-centered culture. It is obvious the groundwork has been intentionally laid for many years to create a place where students can express the talents and gifts God has given them in a way that glorifies Him. From the beginning of our day, starting with prayer, to the middle of the day in Bible Study and Worship, to the end of the day in activities and sports, Gilead Christian is a place where the invitation and anticipation for God to show up is evident.
